NIET offers required food supervisor course

As a business owner or food service supervisor, you have numerous responsibilities, and they can keep you busy all day long. You may find that you accidentally overlook things that don’t seem like that big of a deal – until they cause a problem. Food borne illness is a growing issue in Australia and elsewhere, something that ought to be a serious concern for anyone who works in the food service industry. In Australia, all food handlers have training in food safety. Food Safety Supervisors require a specific course to teach them the things they need to know about safe food handling and overseeing those who handle food in their place of work. You can easily avoid food borne illnesses with proper safety procedures, and that’s why proper training is so important.

At Nepean Industry Edge Training, we provide the course you need: SITXFSA201 Participate in Safe Food Handling Practices (Food Supervisor Course) – NIET. This course gives you the training necessary for confidently and safely handling food during preparation, display, service, storage, and disposal. This course is separate from the standard “food handlers” qualification in that it’s for those who oversee their organisation’s food safety program and are responsible for ensuring a safe working environment. SITXFSA201 Participate in Safe Food Handling Practices (Food Supervisor Course) – NIET is ideal for food service managers, food safety supervisors, team leaders, and cooks. The course teaches concepts such as how to follow food safety procedures, how to safely store food, how to prepare food safely, how to safely utilise single-use items, how to dispose of food safely, and how to maintain and supervise a clean environment.

We focus on providing a top-notch training experience, and we deliver programs that can increase your job prospects and improve your life. Give us a call today to book your spot.

Course Duration: 5 hours, 9am to 2pm. A workplace assessment is also required by your supervisor or NIET. Workplace assessment and all tasks must be completed within one month after the training.

NOTE: While not mandatory, for the purposes of assessment it is ideal that you currently work in an environment where you are handling food. You supervisor must hold the SITXFSA201, SITXFSA001A unit or equivalent to support your assessment, otherwise NIET is able to conduct the workplace assessment for an additional fee.
