The course teaches concepts such as how to follow food safety procedures, how to safely store food, how to prepare food safely, how to safely utilise single-use items, how to dispose of food safely, and how to maintain and supervise a clean environment.

Course Duration: 4 hours, 1;30p to 5:30pm. A workplace assessment is also required by your supervisor or NIET. Workplace assessment and all tasks must be completed within one month after the training.

NOTE: While not mandatory, for the purposes of assessment it is ideal that you currently work in an environment where you are handling food. You supervisor must hold the SITXFSA002, SITXFSA001 unit or equivalent to support your assessment, otherwise NIET is able to conduct the workplace assessment for an additional fee.
